History of the Ride
In 1995, Stan and Susan Feldman met Larry Saltsman and Michelle Lavine on a bike trip through the French countryside. After their return to Canada, they decided to ride together again – but this time, they would do it to raise funds for an organization they loved: Baycrest. Over a two-day period, they rode 250 kilometres from Bala to Toronto and raised $5,000. The Bike for Baycrest idea took off, and they enlisted Jonathan Feldman to be a founding member of the Barrie to Baycrest organizers’ group. In 1996 riders raised about $45,000.
Over the last 24 years, the B2B Ride has grown, and hundreds of participants have raised a total of approx. $11 million!
By participating in Barrie 2 Baycrest 2019, you'll be raising vital funds for exercise programs at Stan’s Gym and the new Kimel Family Centre for Brain Health and Wellness.
Returning rider, Stacey Kirshenblatt, shares her inspiring story about what B2B means to her and how her whole family is involved. Get inspired and join Stacey on Sunday, September 8, 2019 for this year's B2B ride!
