PACESETTERS

What is a Pacesetter?

We want to introduce you to B2B Pacesetters! A B2B Pacesetter is someone is leading the way and setting the example for all of us by making great progress in their fundraising, secured the most donors, recruited the most riders, or someone who has made an impact on the ride in some other way.

Our goal is to recognize you for your great efforts in supporting Baycrest, while at the same time helping all of our riders to get to know each other! In past years, we have been able to gather for training rides, and we hope we can start these up again in the summer, but in the meantime, you can meet and get to know your fellow riders virtually through these spotlights.

How to become a Pacesetter?

Nominate a Pacesetter!  If you know a rider that makes a difference to Baycrest and our beloved ride, tell us about them.  All entries will be put in to a draw, and the winners will be featured in our monthly newsletters!

This father-daughter duo are a perfect example of the B2B community. Howard has been a part of the YOW (Yidden on Wheels) Motorcycle Club since 2018. Each year the YOWs generously donate their time to B2B as our official route marshals, ensuring that our riders stay safe on the roads. Howard and Sydney will participate as B2B riders, and have already recruited 35 donors!

This is Jordan's sixth B2B! He's gathered 57 donors and has raised his fundraising objective four times over the last week alone. He says: "Baycrest is a place of amazing power and potential. It serves a critical role in communities here and worldwide. It is a privilege to ride each year in support of Baycrest, as it improves quality of life for so many people."

This is Alyssa's 1st year as a B2B rider. Baycrest is playing an important role in her family's life, as her father is part of a study at the Rotman Research Institute. His involvement is helping in our quest to defeat dementia.

"My dad was diagnosed with dementia; but I must say we are fortunate, as he’s doing very well. He turned 90 in July, and I am thrilled to participate in my first Barrie to Baycrest Ride in his honour, and to give hope to anyone who has a family member living with dementia.”

For Month of May

This month, we couldn’t choose just one Pacesetter. Instead, wanted to recognize a whole group of people - the B2B Committee! Their incredible guidance on this event ensures that we provide an exceptional experience for riders, which keeps them coming back year after year! Whether it’s creating the route, bringing on sponsors or recruiting new riders, this group of pacesetters is leading us toward an unforgettable 26th year of B2B!

"B2B is unlike any other ride I have participated in. You are truly valued as an individual and fundraiser, and the Baycrest team is there to support you every step of the way. Baycrest was there for my family in so many ways over the years. This is my way of supporting them to ensure that the services they offer are there for those who need them." - Carrie (pictured on left).
